Active Support Against Poverty (ASAP)
The Community Support Worker (CSW) will support tenants and potential tenants to focus on barriers that hinder them with funding and sustaining housing. The project will help ensure that tenants and homeless/at-risk individuals receive a wide range of services, including, but not limited to, food, hygiene, health, and move-in packages. Tenants and potential tenants have challenging and complex issues and we anticipate that many individuals provided with assistance through this project are completely marginalized from our community. The positive and direct assistance through this project may result in increased stability thus ensuring they are healthier members of our community.

Prince George Housing First Program/Evening Outreach Program

This project contributes towards three positions for the Housing First team who will work in partnership with the community stakeholders to reduce homelessness in Prince George by housing individuals with varying challenges that are barriers to maintaining successful housing.

Addressing Social Determinants of Health
Central Interior Native Health Society
This project provides a full-time Outreach Driver, purchase of a transportation vehicle, and associated costs such as vehicle gas, maintenance and insurance. Central Interior Native Health serves marginalized populations who do not have access to safe, reliable, affordable transportation which limits their ability to attend medical, specialist and psychosocial support appointments. This impacts overall wellness and contributes to the harms inherent to marginalized populations, particularly the precariously housed. An outreach driver will mitigate this and provide an opportunity to meet clients where they are at.

Release Support Services
Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern BC
This project provides one Program Worker who will support individuals released from a psychiatric unit or psychiatric home into shelters or homelessness in an effort to ensure that the appropriate connections to community services are in place for them to access necessary medications and medical follow ups. Measurable goals are defined and set by the individual then supported to achievement and tracked by staff.

Downtown Alley Clean Team Program

This project provides direct support to the homeless population in downtown, by providing clean and safe alleys, laneways, and work environments for everyone, and providing a means of employment through our partnership with The Drug Awareness Recovery Team (DART) for those who otherwise may be unemployed or underemployed and at risk of becoming homeless.

Transitional Support Coordinator
The Northern John Howard Society of BC (NJHSBC)
The project provides one Transitional Support Coordinator who will support current tenants as well as work with individuals in the justice system with discharge planning and continued support once released. Funds will also be used for renovations to NJHSBC’s building for updated flooring and doors.

This project provides one Employment Facilitator to support individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness with employment training and employment support, as well as support with accessing other income sources.

Reaching home funds will be utilized towards an Assistant Coordinator of food service for the Drop in Centre, a Drop in Assistant and a Christmas Hamper Coordinator which will contribute towards ensuring individuals experiencing homelessness and at risk of homelessness receive daily meals or food hampers.

Food Pantry

To assist clients who are currently living precariously, at risk of homelessness and/or homeless with basic essential nutrition in an effort to assist with improving and/or stabilizing their current living situation. The CSFS team will support persons seeking assistance with food security through a Food Pantry Program that will be available to clients in Prince George.
