The vision of our Regional Advisory Board (RAB) is to contribute to the reduction of homelessness by increasing access to sustainable, collaborative approaches and necessary resources in rural and remote communities across British Columbia (BC).
In order to ensure funding is allocated in the most effective manner to the initiatives and/or organizations that are able to influence change to the realities of homelessness, this Board draws upon partnerships with entities with similar goals.
The RAB strives to achieve a balance of representation from across BC and is comprised of 10 representatives who are knowledgeable about the homeless reality in rural and remote areas of BC where limited availability of social supports and a safe, affordable housing market have created significant barriers for the broader homelessness-serving sector.
The RAB uses knowledge-based practice to recommend funding to projects aimed at reducing homelessness through a fair and transparent process, based on the illustrated guiding principles above.
