By developing and implementing the new Outreach services Resource Map of all available resources in the area Island Crisis Care Society (ICCS) can continue to strive to bridge the gap for many individuals who would otherwise go unnoticed and provide that “first hand” of help and support for the clients that we are so privileged to serve in the Oceanside community.  Participants are regularly referred to essential programs such as Island Health, SOS (Society of Organized Services), the Manna Homeless Outreach Van, among others.  These referrals go beyond simply handing out information, they include guided introductions, support with paperwork or eligibility questions, and, when needed, in-person accompaniment to help reduce barriers.  By providing clear, compassionate navigation, outreach ensures that individuals don’t feel overwhelmed or alone in the process.  This coordinated approach helps bridge the gap between intention and access, making services feel more approachable, and building the client’s confidence in reaching out for support.  

We believe that it’s not just about handing out resources, it’s about making sure they’re understood, usable, and delivered with care by someone who is genuinely there to support them.  As one of the longest-standing frontline outreach supports in the area, we've become a trusted and familiar resource, often seen as a go-to connection for individuals navigating difficult circumstances.  That said, our work is always grounded in a team approach.  We believe in walking alongside our community partners, not ahead of them.  We believe that collaboration makes this work sustainable and impactful.  ICCS continues to show up consistently, humbly, and with heart, shining bright on the streets and in the spaces that matter most.  With renewed Federal Reaching Home funding, we hope to continue to provide these same high-quality services in a holistic and respectful manner for the clients most in need in the communities that we serve.
