Under the guidance of volunteer Community / Regional Advisory Boards (CAB / RAB) and the Urban Aboriginal Working Group (UAWG), the Reaching Home team distributes three (3) streams of Federal government funding: Designated Communities, Indigenous Homelessness, and BC Rural & Remote Homelessness. Having the responsibility of managing these three funding streams provides opportunities to support a vast range of projects that continue to work towards preventing and reducing homelessness in their community (s).
Some organizations have projects that focus on housing clients while other organizations respond to the most basic emergent needs of our vulnerable citizens, providing meals, clothing, household goods and distributing emergency kits. These organizations generate quantitative data by tracking the numbers of goods and services they provide or the numbers of people who have been housed. The organizations we fund provide regular reporting and updates indicating successes, challenges and the impact their project is having on their community.
