Through the dedicated support and compassionate efforts of the Trail Association of Community Living staff at La Nina Shelter an individual accessing services received a new set of dentures this quarter.  This transformative event not only restored their smile but also their confidence, offering them a fresh start and renewed sense of dignity.  This success story came with its own challenges and lessons learned, from figuring out financials and setting up appointments to supporting them getting to these appointments on time.  Living without access to dental care can have a profound impact on one’s quality of life, affecting everything from physical health and nutrition to social interactions.  Recognizing their need, staff at the shelter took the initiative to coordinate support for their dental care.  With their new set of dentures this individual can now enjoy nutritious meals that were previously difficult to eat, improving their overall health and energy.  Having a full set of teeth has also given them a profound sense of pride.  They feel more confident in social settings, hopefully opening doors to personal connections and employment opportunities.
