The Trail Association of Community Living housing facilitator completed intakes with nine people, each facing housing instability due to the rising cost of rentals in our area. This assessment identified two main groups: those who were completely homeless (four people) and those who could no longer afford their current rentals (five people). Through a combination of financial support, housing placements, and ongoing guidance, the facilitator has made significant progress in stabilizing housing situations for these nine people. Five were successfully placed in housing; one individual was able to remain in their current rental with financial support for missed rent; and three continue to work with the housing facilitator, receiving assistance with housing applications, exploring additional financial resources, and planning for long-term stability. The housing facilitator’s proactive approach and personalized support have led to tangible outcomes for people facing housing crises. By successfully housing many individuals and assisting others with financial support and ongoing case management, the program is making strides in reducing housing instability for individuals, families, and caregivers. Continued efforts and resources will be critical to address the needs of those still searching for affordable housing options.
