Partners In Resources’ Homeward Vernon Project housing and client support services are becoming very popular.  We measure the impact through statistics, and feedback from community partners and community members. We have consistently met and exceeded our targets throughout our programming, and positive feedback from the community is received on a regular basis.  Clients cite that our program has changed their lives and given them optimism for the future.  We have no need to market the program in Vernon as we continually have a waitlist for this program, which speaks to its success.  We have recently been able to close several clients’ files in Vernon and have seen great interest from the community in the seats we have available. 

In August there was a fire in Vernon that displaced individuals who were living long-term in that location.  We anticipate that we may see referrals because of this fire; re-entry or re-build time frames around this location is yet to be determined.  Almost immediately, we will be able to close a few clients’ files who have achieved independence or are not participating or have moved.  This will enable us to respond to enquiries and accept referrals from people who are displaced as a result of this fire.  Thankfully, there were no injuries in this fire, which was incredibly lucky given the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
