Healthy Foundations

Zero Ceiling Society of Canada provides stable housing, access to income and financial supports, case management, mental and physical health support, and individualized care.  All our program participants were employed full-time from October 2023 – May 2024 in tourism jobs.  We saw them make huge strides in creating stability in their lives, developing confidence, and finding success in the workplace.  We have faced some challenges with securing employment for participants during the summer season and some participants are facing reduced hours due to downturn in the tourism economy as a result of unusual weather and increased prices.  During this time, we support participants to develop additional job search skills.  As a result, several participants have now secured their own jobs in the community to align with specific interests.  This demonstrates their growing skills and confidence to secure and maintain employment more independently.  A participant who joined the program in October 2023 graduated from the program this past May!  The individual was experiencing homelessness when they entered the program.  They were provided stable housing, supportive employment, access to outdoor recreation and the tools and basic needs required to support healing and self-determination.  With these supports and services, this participant built themselves a healthy foundation and have now graduated from the program and are living independently.

The PGNAETA Reaching Home Division are honoured to work, live and play on the unceded traditional and ancestral territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation.
